Where in the World is Nathan Luff?
Like flour when you accidentally sneeze on it, I am all over the place this next coming month.
This Friday the 27th of August, during book week, I get to return to my hometown to do some visits at 3 schools, which is very exciting. Berinba Public School is the first on the list and it is the primary school I attended as a kid although I’m sure it doesn’t look a lot like it did back in the 1980s and 90s. I hope I still remember where it is. I also get to say hello to the students at Yass Public School and Bowning Public School, two great schools in the area.
I really enjoy school visits because kids always ask better questions than adults and in most cases, they don’t throw fruit at you. I wouldn’t mind it though if someone threw chocolate at me, as long as it wasn’t a kilogram bar of chocolate but I guess that would be okay as long as they didn’t throw it too hard and as long as I didn’t have to share it.
Where was I? Yes, so I’ll be in Yass on Friday and then my next school visit is with a couple of schools in Victoria – Tylden Primary School and Altona Meadows Primary School on the 15th of September. The Tylden PS students have written great messages to me about Chicken Stu so I can’t wait to meet them and answer any questions they have. I hope the questions aren’t too hard. I hope no one asks me to explain the theory of relativity. I think it has something to do with Aunties and Uncles.
On the 17th of Sep I’ll be in Western Australia, so if you’re a school in Perth and you’d like me to visit your school, just let me know otherwise I will just spend the whole time in a café drinking too much hot chocolate and constantly asking the waiters, ‘Do you know who I am?’ People generally don’t.
If you’re in Sydney you can catch me at the Sydney Children’s Festival on the 29th September and I’ll also be running a Scriptwriting for Kids session through The Children’s Bookshop in Beecroft on that day.
So that’s me all over the place – I hope to see you somewhere out and about.
